So here we go with the tech blog. What I hope to accomplish here is to impart some of the tips and tricks that I have gleaned over the 10+ years I have been working on Harleys. The stuff you dont find in the service manual or on youtube. Speaking of youtube, we might do some videos to help in what we are trying to get across. ReplyDeleteHey why is it that motorcycles have 2 exhaust pipes some times? I see that some have one and other 2? is it the size of engine?
ReplyDeleteExhaust pipes are determined by several factors. Sound, performance, price point...etc... The 2 vs 1 question has to do with performance. What we call a 2 into 1 in the V-Twin world produces a better power curve than a comperable 2 into 2. The reason has to do with backpressure. Thats a topic for a whole other article. I always advise customers to listen to several different pipes and go with the sound that makes them happy.
